An air ambulance was called last night to an incident in Hales Place.

The helicopter ambulance, which landed in Beverley Meadows between Hales Place and the University of Kent, was audibly heard by residents between St Dunstans, St Stephens and Hales Places.

One witness said:"I was sitting in the Ye Olde Beverlie with my friends, and suddenly we saw an ambulance going past."

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service have said they attended a call-out at 10:05pm, but were unable to provide any further details at this moment.

Eyewitnesses claim the ambulance stayed in Beverley Meadows until half past 11, where it took off.

More details to follow.
